Fighting Against Sex Trafficking 101

HOW WE STARTED.

In 2007 FAST 101 was only the independent works and vision of Director, Doug van der Horden, who saw an immediate need for change. Doug actively pursued his commitment through public education and advocating for the vulnerable in our communities. In 2017, FAST 101 became official and proudly grew as a team. They have been operating independently without Federal or Provincial funding since the beginning, depending only on personal contribution, fundraisers, and generous donations from out community.

FAST 101 will fulfill their vision providing education and awareness to the central school board, business community, education system and local service providers. We will promote active intervention and ongoing initiatives, which will fill the gaps in service for victims and survivors of Human Trafficking. Through self referral, we hold an open-door policy that enables victims to come forward to gain immediate assistance and direction for aftercare.

VISION.

MISSION.

Consistent with the Canadian Human Rights Act, FAST 101 has been committed to abolishing Human Trafficking and related issues in Kingston, Canada, and throughout the world since 2017. FAST 101 serves as a direct outreach option for current and past victims as well as a community resource. Connecting survivors with immediate aftercare and direction for ongoing support, both within the organization and throughout the community.
